Information this site receives

You can read the research library without creating an account. If you email support@calilean.com or send the website contact form, CaliLean receives your name, email address, question topic, message and any information you choose to include. Netlify and Nominov’s Supabase service process the request, and Resend delivers the message to CaliLean support. Messages are retained in the support mailbox and may be retained in Resend’s delivery records. These details are used to respond to your enquiry; sending a contact message does not subscribe you to Field Notes.

If you choose to join Field Notes, we collect your email address and your agreement to receive the newsletter. Nominov manages the subscription through Supabase and syncs the address to CaliLean’s Resend audience. The signup page address, subscription time and request IP address may be recorded to operate the list and limit abuse. The form does not send your page’s query string or fragment.

Our hosting and security providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, device and browser details, requested pages, approximate location, and error or security logs so the site can be delivered and protected.

Search, images, and other sites

The site search downloads a public index and matches your query in your browser. The query is not sent as a search request to CaliLean. A normal request for the index may still appear in hosting logs.

Some article images or cited references may be served by another website. Opening those resources or following a link can send ordinary request details to that provider. Shop and member links take you to separate services with their own data practices.

How information is used and shared

CaliLean uses contact messages to answer questions and maintain correspondence. Hosting and security data is used to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the site. CaliLean’s published privacy policy says it does not sell personal information.

Newsletter addresses are used to manage your Field Notes subscription and deliver the editions you requested. Nominov, Supabase and Resend process the information needed for that service. Joining the editorial newsletter does not create a shop account or enroll you in the member portal.

Information may be handled by providers needed for hosting, email, security, and related operations, and may be disclosed when required by law or to protect rights and safety. This research site does not process card payments or collect shipping details. Purchases and member access happen on separate services.

Cookies, retention, and security

This research site does not currently set a cart, account, or newsletter cookie, and it has no advertising tracker in its code. Hosting infrastructure may use technical data needed to deliver or protect the site. The shop and member portal have different features and may use cookies for checkout, account access, or measurement.

Messages and technical records are kept only as needed to answer requests, operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect the site. CaliLean uses reasonable safeguards, but no online service is perfectly secure.

Your choices and requests

You can unsubscribe using the link in a Field Notes email, or ask us to stop newsletter emails or remove your subscription by writing to support@calilean.com. Subscription records are kept while you are subscribed; limited suppression records may be retained so an unsubscribe request continues to be respected.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to limit certain uses. Send a request to support@calilean.com; CaliLean may need to verify your identity. Browser settings can control cookies, and you can choose whether to follow external links.

This editorial site is intended for adults. If you believe a minor has sent personal information, contact CaliLean so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate. CaliLean operates from the United States; information may be processed there. This policy will be updated when the site’s collection practices change.
